Get this from a library. Open the sky. An anthology of the literature of flight. [Enid M Quittenden]. Like the original Flight anthology, the second one has a very wide variety of work from many different creators, with very different styles, but all beautiful to look at.

A few differences, though. This collection is much longer than the first one, almost twice as long/5. Religion, morality, love, environmentalism, and randomness are the. The Open Boat by Stephen Crane. Originally published as, "Stephen Crane's Own Story" (), The Open Boat is based on the real-life ordeal Crane endured, when the boat he was taking to Cuba ran aground and sank off the Florida coast.

Read more background on The American Literary Blog. I picked up The Bedside Book of Birds at a local library book sale. It was an interesting compilation of writings about birds edited and introduced by Graeme Gibson. The book was divided in to sections, each with a somewhat lengthly introduction by Gibson.

In this new book we have followed a slightly different arrangement to that of the former Anthology. Instead of an arbitrary selection by an editor, each poet has been permitted to represent himself by the work he considers his best, the only stipulation being that it should not yet have appeared in book form.
